The distances from Eucla are a reminder of how remote this settlement is. For 700kms to the west and over 400kms to the east there are only roadhouses servicing the passing traffic, no real settlements of any description, just kms and kms of desolate scrub.
This is the old telegraph station at Eucla. It is a beautiful old stone building but is slowly being consumed by drifting sand.
