We hired a car and went out to Cape Le Grand about 60kms out along the coast to see the beauty of the ocean around Esperance. The colours have to be seen to be believed, with brilliant white sands, aqua water under pure white surf, and out from the beach, shades of darker blue that contrast brilliantly with the lighter inshore colours. The water is crystal clear and quite warm, but not quite warm enough to enjoy a casual dip, so we only dipped the toes in the surf. These photos don’t really do the colours justice but they’re the best we’ve got and we hope they convey at least part of the incredible beauty of the scenes.
