Just outside Northampton, on a winding country road, we passed a major milestone on the trip, the completion of 10,000kms of peddalling since leaving Canberra just over four months ago.

Here are the class 5,6,7 kids, they were having breakfast when we arrived and were interested in hearing about our trip.

After 24 kilometres of cycling through the most wonderful valley of nodding wheat fields, we came to a tiny little town (Nabawa) and in that tiny little town there was a tiny little school. As we cycled past I couldn’t help but notice the most beautiful mosaic on the wall, I just had to get a photo, so we stopped and as it turns out the tiny little school had a very big heart and invited us in for breakfast and a chat. This school just has that lovely feel that country schools have. A real credit to the principal and teachers.
The Principal as it turns out is Glyn Parry (personal friend of Tim Winton) who has just launched his new book Ocean Road at the Big sky writers festival. Hope it all goes well for him.

Some very interesting landforms like this pyramid shaped peak were visible as we approached Geraldton from Nabawa.
