Rest day in Cairns

The Skytrain cablecar ride down from Kuranda back to Cairns was spectacular, with views over the rainforest canopy and down into the forest floor, as well as great views across to the distant ranges from a quiet overhead vantage point.
The view got better. This was taken as we departed the station before we had risen above the canopy, but already the view looked promising.
We took a day trip up to Kuranda on the scenic railway for the day, which winds its way up from valley floor to a height of about 400m, through switchbacks and tunnels and great forest and mountain scenery. Pete certainly enjoyed the view from the carriage.
One of the options we considered for my replacement bike was this old reliable model, with full steel rims, but for some reason the idea never quite took off.
