Gladstone’s coal fired power station consumes lots of coal but provides power for the aluminium refinery that apparently exports 2 million dollars worth of this shiny metal a day. Extraordinary !
Pulling in for a breather. Note the train hauling coal in the background, these trains passed every 1-2 hours and have well over 100 carriages each.
